Kappa League Supports Community at Second Harvest Food Bank

For our chapter's December outing, Kappa League members spent a day gaining fulfilling volunteer experience at the Second Harvest Food Bank in Orlando, FL!

The Second Harvest Food Bank is an organization that provides food to people in need in Central Florida. With the help of volunteers, they collect, sort, and distribute food to partner agencies, such as food pantries, soup kitchens, and shelters. Our members had the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on their community by contributing to this mission.

Throughout the course of the day, Kappa Leaguers gained valuable knowledge about food safety practices, such as how to properly handle and store food to prevent contamination. They also learned about the process of getting food from the food bank to those who need it, including the important role of partner agencies in distribution.

In addition to the educational aspect, our members also had a great time volunteering together as a team. They enjoyed working together to accomplish a common goal and found the experience rewarding and fulfilling. Volunteering at the Second Harvest Food Bank allowed our members to give back to their community and make a difference in the lives of those who need it most.

We are proud of our Kappa League members for taking the initiative to lend their time and efforts to such a worthy cause. We encourage all of our supporters to consider assisting Second Harvest in their mission. Click here to visit their website to learn about future opportunities to volunteer!
